State, Japan Tobacco ruled not liable for smokers' illnesses

YOKOHAMA, Japan - A group of people related to a damages suit over tobacco's harm to health march to the Yokohama District Court on Jan. 20, 2010, holding a sign that reads ''No more tobacco illnesses!'' The court dismissed the suit the same day, saying Japan Tobacco Inc. and the government were not responsible for diseases of the plaintiffs including lung cancer. (Kyodo)
