KITAKYUSHU, Japan - Thomas Koehler, a former travel agent from Switzerland, smiles after arriving in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, in Kyushu, Japan's southern main island, having traveled through a tunnel from Shimonoseki on the Honshu main island on Dec. 5, 2011.
