BEIJING, China - Photo taken in May 2010 shows Chinese human rights activist Ni Yulan in Beijing. Ni, in detention awaiting trial, was announced as the winner of the 2011 Human Rights Defenders Tulip award. Ni's daughter has been put under 24-hour surveillance by Chinese authorities after being prevented from attending the award ceremony in the Netherlands slated for Jan. 31, 2012, on behalf of her mother, the daughter and others disclosed on Jan. 29, 2012.
