Toyota Prius becomes 1st hybrid to rank top in annual sales

TOKYO, Japan - Toyota Motor Corp.'s Prius gas-electric hybrid car (file photo) topped the list of Japan's best-selling vehicles in 2009, becoming the first hybrid to capture the No. 1 slot covering an entire year, according to industry data released on Jan. 8, 2010.
