Tomioka Silk Mill registered as World Heritage site

DOHA, Qatar - (From L) Masaaki Osawa, the governor of Japan's Gunma Prefecture, Masanori Aoyagi, commissioner of the Cultural Affairs Agency, and Kenjiro Monji, ambassador at the Permanent Delegation of Japan to UNESCO, celebrate after the UNESCO World Heritage Committee decided at a meeting in Doha on June 21, 2014, to add the Tomioka Silk Mill, a historic factory building symbolizing Japan's industrialization from the 19th century, to the World Cultural Heritage list.
