Top court upholds paternity even if blood ties disproved by DNA test
TOKYO, Japan - Photo taken on July 17, 2014, shows the First Petty Bench of Japan's Supreme Court in Tokyo. It ruled the results of DNA tests are not enough to revoke paternity of a child even if they disprove any biological relation to the assumed father. In its first ruling on the issue, the top court said DNA tests cannot change paternity status established under the Civil Code. (Kyodo)
