Traces of big quake found in location of Heijo-kyo
NARA, Japan - Nara National Research Institute for Cultural Properties discloses on Aug. 22, 2014, traces of sand and water (in lighter color), believed to have gushed out as a result of liquefaction caused by major earthquakes, in an area where Heijo-kyo, Japan's capital city in the 8th century, was located in the city of Nara.
