'Dry landscape' garden in Kyoto illuminated
KYOTO, Japan - Torin-in Temple's "karesansui"-style rock garden in Kyoto, western Japan, is illuminated with candle light and traditional Japanese lanterns on Oct. 9, 2014. Karesansui, literally meaning a dry mountain and water, is a style of gardening which creates a landscape with only dry materials such as rocks and gravel stones. (Kyodo)
