Fixer helps Nobel laureate in blue LED invention
STOCKHOLM, Sweden - Akio Ishida, a senior researcher at the Japan Science and Technology Agency, speaks after listening to commemorative lectures by three Japanese winners of the 2014 Nobel Prize in Physics in Stockholm on Dec. 8, 2014. Ishida played a leading role in linking the work of Isamu Akasaki, one of the three Nobel laureates and the world's first inventor of a blue light-emitting diode, with LED manufacturers. (Kyodo)
