Remains from Iwoto
TOKYO, Japan - Boxes containing the remains of possibly 822 Japanese soldiers who died on Iwoto Island in the closing days of World War II are carried during a ceremony at Chidorigafuchi National Cemetery in Tokyo on Feb. 15, 2011. In the ceremony, the remains discovered by a government team on the island in fiscal 2010 were handed over to the health ministry in charge of their management. (Kyodo)
