N. Korea bans seafood exports
TOKYO, Japan - File photo taken in December 2009 shows a man opening a box of crabs from North Korea at a crab processing plant in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in Jilin Province, China. Sources familiar with China-North Korean trade matters said on Feb. 25, 2012, that North Korea has banned exports of seafood since the beginning of 2012 as its new leadership under Kim Jong Un is apparently trying to expand food rations ahead of the centennial anniversary of the birth of the country's founder, Kim Il Sung.
