Historical diary of Japanese 'wine king' found
KAGOSHIMA, Japan - Photo taken Jan. 17, 2012, shows albums, notebooks and other items that belonged to Kanae Nagasawa (1852-1934) and were recently found in the United States on display at the Ichikikushikino city hall in Kagoshima Prefecture. Nagasawa was sent to Britain at the age of 13 by the Satsuma domain of feudal Japan to study Western civilizations, and later moved to the United States, where he established himself as a successful wine maker.
