Cherry trees start blooming in Fukuoka
FUKUOKA, Japan - A woman points to the first blossoms on ''someiyoshino'' cherry trees in Fukuoka, southwestern Japan, on March 22, 2011. The Fukuoka District Meteorological Observatory declared the same day that cherry trees had started to bloom in the city, the third location this season in Japan after Shizuoka and Kumamoto among designated observation areas across the country. The blossoming of the cherry trees in Fukuoka is four days earlier than the average year. (Kyodo)
