Biophysicist Nishiwaki dies at 94
OSAKA, Japan - A 2005 file photo shows Yasushi Nishiwaki, a biophysicist and a professor emeritus at the University of Vienna, who died at the age of 94 on March 27, 2011. Nishiwaki detected and examined nuclear fallout from the Japanese fishing vessel Fukuryu Maru No. 5 following a U.S. hydrogen bomb test in the Bikini Atoll in 1954, which contributed to a mounting antinuclear movement in Europe and elsewhere.
