Average gasoline price tops 140 yen in Japan
TOKYO, Japan - A sign board at a gas station in Osaka shows the price of regular and high-octane gasoline climbed at 152 yen and 162 yen per liter, respectively, on March 9, 2011. The average retail price of regular gasoline in Japan has topped 140 yen for the first time since November 2008 amid the political unrest in the Middle East and North Africa. (Kyodo)
