Letter to SDF by girl who lost friends in tsunami

TAKAMATSU, Japan - Photo shows a letter addressed to members of the Self-Defense Forces by a girl who writes that she lost all of her friends at Okawa Elementary School in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, after the March 11 tsunami. ''Umi,'' who signed the letter, thanked the SDF for their recovery work and said she will try her best to move forward because the SDF is trying their best. The letter was handed April 6, 2011, to one of the Ground Self-Defense Force members working near the school, which lost 70 percent of its students.
