Chinese tourists affirm safety of Fukushima

FUKUSHIMA, Japan - Shohei Muroi (R), mayor of Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima Prefecture, gives to China's Spring Airlines Chairman Wang Zhenghua a small self-righting doll, a local lucky charm, in front of Tsuruga Castle in the city on May 22, 2012, the last day of a three-day tour of the prefecture by a group of nearly 40 people from mainland China. Many of the Chinese tourists support the view the area is a wonderful and safe place to visit, after seeing with their own eyes that life in many ways has returned to normal following the 2011 nuclear disaster.
