Saving power in Japan
OSAKA, Japan - Commuters walk under lights partially lit and turned down to save energy in the underground mall in Osaka, on July 1, 2011. Many Japanese businesses and households are saving energy as the government started restricting electricity consumption by large-lot users in eastern Japan the same day to avert power shortages in the wake of the March 11 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster.
