Apple's Jobs resigns as CEO

                      Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. announced on October 9 that Hiroto Nishikawa, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), will resign on October 16, and Yasuhiro Yamauchi, Chief Operating Officer (COO), will take over as President and CEO on the same day. At a press conference on the same day, Mr. Yasushi Kimura, Chairman of Nissan's Board of Directors, said, "It is essential to make sure that governance is effective under the new system. By changing the top management with this sense of speed, we can convince our stakeholders just in time. President Nishikawa said, "I have been able to get some idea of the 'homework' I need to fulfill. This was the earliest timing for my resignation among the various assumptions I made. In addition, the company has been working on a list of candidates both inside and outside of Nissan, which is currently being narrowed down.
