James wins 400 meters at world c'ships
DAEGU, South Korea - Grenada's Kirani James (C) finishes first, just ahead of the runner-up LaShawn Merritt of the United States, in the final men's 400 meter race at the world athletics championships in Daegu, South Korea, on Aug. 30, 2011. The 18-year-old won the first-ever gold medal for his country in the event at 44.60, breaking his previous best. (Kyodo)
