Last shelters in Iwate close

YAMADA, Japan - Evacuees remove their belongings from the gymnasium of Yamada High School in Yamada, Iwate Prefecture, on Aug. 31, 2011. Residents of the four remaining shelters in Iwate began moving out that day as local authorities prepared to close all public shelters later that day, making it the first prefecture to do so among the three hardest-hit by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
