Letters unite 2 disaster-hit cities
WAKAYAMA, Japan - Photo taken on Sept. 28, 2011 shows letters sent by children and their parents of Koriyama, Fukushima Prefecture to people in the city of Wakayama. Children in Fukushima, which has been suffering from the March 11 tsunami and the ensuing nuclear crisis, were invited to stay for several days in Wakayama in August to enjoy sightseeing and summer activities. Since then, thank you letters have been coming from Koriyama to Wakayama, with some letters also encouraging people in the western Japan city hit by Typhoon Talas in early September. (Kyodo)
