Taro simmering festival in Yamagata
YAMAGATA, Japan - Cranes are used to prepare simmered taro in a jumbo steel cauldron measuring six meters in diameter at an annual festival in Yamagata, northern Japan, on Sept. 5, 2010. Around 30,000 servings were prepared for visitors who enjoyed eating the dish despite the heat wave. (Kyodo)
