Soccer square for citizens opens in Yokohama
YOKOHAMA, Japan - A 9,000-square-meter soccer park for citizens is opened Feb. 3 in Yokohama to promote the 2002 World Cup soccer games. The space, located in Minatomirai district facing Yokohama port near the Yokohama Station, is also to be used for Japan-South Korea cultural exchanges and World Cup-related events. It will remain open to the public until the end of June.
