Some 35,000 runners take part in Tokyo Marathon

TOKYO, Japan - Runners start in front of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building in Tokyo's Shinjuku Ward on Feb. 27, 2010, to race in the Tokyo Marathon. Some 35,000 people -- 3,000 for the 10-kilometer race and 32,000 for the full 42.195-kilometer race -- took part in the rain-swept event. (Kyodo)
