Koizumi names Yamasaki as LDP vice president
TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, reelected as president of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), leaves his official residence on Sept. 21 after talks with LDP Secretary General Taku Yamasaki. Koizumi decided to name Yamasaki as party vice president, while picking Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Shinzo Abe to replace Yamasaki as secretary general. (Kyodo)
