Aggrieved woman removed from venue of China leaders' meeting
BEIJING, China - A woman holding a piece of paper apparently with the intention of lodging a petition with the nation's leaders is removed by a police officer on Oct. 16 from the vicinity of the Great Hall of the People, the venue of the ongoing 17th Chinese Communist Party Congress. Chinese citizens with grievances against the government often seek redress by making a direct petition to a senior government official. (Kyodo)
