Beijing quiet on 1st weekend after Koizumi's shrine visit
BEIJING, China - An armed policeman stands on guard outside the Japanese Embassy in Beijing on Oct. 22. The Chinese capital was business as usual at the start of the first weekend after Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi's visit to the war-linked Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo. While the Japanese Embassy in Beijing continued to call on Japanese citizens to be alert for possible anti-Japan demonstrations, no signs of such rallies were seen in the morning. (Kyodo)
