Narita's extended 2nd runway goes operational

NARITA, Japan - A chartered Japan Airlines Boeing 747 jumbo bound for Hakodate, Hokkaido, takes off from the 2,500-meter B runway at Narita International Airport, located some 65 kilometers east of central Tokyo in Narita, on Oct. 22, 2009, becoming the first aircraft to use the extended runway.
