Edmund Hillary, first man to scale Mt. Everest, dies at 88
SYDNEY, Australia - Edmund Hillary, the first man to climb the world's highest mountain, Mt. Everest, has died, New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark announced Jan. 11. He was 88.
