Japanese doctor expresses gratitude for efforts for her release
PARIS, France - Japanese doctor Keiko Akahane, who was freed Jan. 7 after having been abducted in Ethiopia in September, speaks at a news conference at the headquarters of the medical aid group Doctors of the World in Paris on Jan. 10. Akahane and Dutch nurse Wilhem Sools arrived in Paris earlier in the day after staying in Nairobi following their release. (Kyodo)
