Japan begins fingerprinting, photographing foreigners
NARITA, Japan - An immigration official (R) explains a new fingerprinting device to a foreign visitor at Narita International, northeast of Tokyo, on Nov. 20 as Japan began implementing a revised immigration law that calls for fingerprinting and photographing foreigners aged 16 or older upon their entry into the country through its 27 airports and 126 ports.
