New York show features retrospective on Yoko Ono's work

NEW YORK, United States - Yoko Ono, multimedia artist and widow of pop superstar John Lennon, speaks at a news conference in New York on Oct. 16 prior to the opening of a retrospective exhibition of her work on Oct. 18. Ono said she hopes the Japan Society Gallery exhibit, entitled ''Yes, Yoko Ono,'' will inspire young people in their own creative endeavors.

John Lennon museum to open in Saitama Pref.

URAWA, Japan - This is an interior image of a museum dedicated to the late John Lennon which will open in Oct. 9 in a new city center in Saitama Prefecture, north of Tokyo. The 1,500-square-meter museum will exhibit about 130 items, including Lennon's musical instruments, clothes, and music and lyrics jotted on the back of restaurant menus. The photo was released by Taisei Corp., which has borrowed the items from Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono.
