TOKYO, Japan - Former members of Japan's Antarctic expeditions throw colored paper streamers from the retired icebreaker Soya in Tokyo on Nov. 8 during a ceremony to mark the 50th anniversary of Japan's first Antarctic expedition. The Soya, which made six trips to the Antarctic between 1956 and 1962, is now moored at a museum in Tokyo's Daiba seafront district. (Kyodo)
