Court awards 800,000 yen to deceased S. Korean A-bomb sufferer
NAGASAKI, Japan - Nobuto Hirano (C), leader of a Japanese support group for a deceased atomic bomb sufferer from South Korea and his relatives, attends a news conference in Nagasaki on Dec. 20. Earlier, the Nagasaki District Court ordered the Nagasaki municipal government to pay about 800,000 yen to his relatives who had demanded that the Japanese and Nagasaki city governments pay 9.6 million yen in hibakusha allowances for the past 24 years and in solatium.
