Impeachment trial opens for judge convicted of harassing woman

TOKYO, Japan - Yoshiharu Shimoyama, 55, a judge at the Utsunomiya District Court, arrives at the House of Councilors' building in Tokyo to attend his impeachment trial on Dec. 3. The Judges Impeachment Court at the Diet opened to determine whether to dismiss Shimoyama, who has been convicted of sending harassing e-mail messages to a female subordinate. (Kyodo)
