JR Hokkaido to operate railway-road vehicles at G8 summit venue

SAPPORO, Japan - Hokkaido Railway Co. announced on Feb. 13 that it will operate dual-mode railway-road vehicles (photo) on temporary rail tracks to be built around Lake Toya as publicity aimed at this year's Group of Eight summit, which will be held July 7-9 at the Lake Toya resort in Hokkaido. The dual-mode vehicles can operate on railways as well as ordinary roads. (Kyodo)
