Blizzard hits Japan's Hokkaido
SAPPORO, Japan - Pedestrians quicken their pace walking across a street Feb. 21 in Sapporo, the capital city of Japan's northernmost main island of Hokkaido, which was hit by a blizzard since morning. The storm forced Hokkaido Railway Co., or JR Hokkaido, to suspend more than 200 trains in the island and airline companies to cancel more than 50 domestic flights at New Chitose Airport. (Kyodo)
