Central, local gov'ts hold drill to deal with potential new flu
TOKUSHIMA, Japan - Twenty central government ministries and agencies and the Tokushima prefectural government jointly held a drill Feb. 5 to deal with a potential outbreak of a new form of influenza in Japan. In the exercise, a man is taken to a hospital room in a special wheel chair after contracting a new type of flu that mutatated from an H5N1-type bird flu virus. In the scenario, the man was infected while traveling overseas and returned to Tokushima Prefecture, where the infection spread.(Kyodo)
