'Someiyoshino' cherry trees start blooming in Fukuoka
FUKUOKA, Japan - This photo shows a ''someiyoshino'' cherry tree starting to bloom in Fukuoka on March 12. The Fukuoka District Meteorological observatory declared the same day that cherry trees had started to bloom in the city, the first this season in designated observation areas across Japan. The blossoming of the cherry trees is 13 days earlier than an average year and 11 days earlier than last year. (Kyodo)
