Akita woman sentenced to life for killing daughter, boy
AKITA, Japan - The Akita District Court on March 19 sentences Suzuka Hatakeyama (file photo) to life in prison for killing her 9-year-old daughter Ayaka and Goken Yoneyama, a 7-year-old boy in her neighborhood in the town of Fujisato, Akita Prefecture, in 2006. Public prosecutors had demanded the death sentence. (Kyodo)
