Suspect in Ibaraki stabbing rampage sent to public prosecutors
TSUCHIURA, Japan - Masahiro Kanagawa (L), 24, emerges from the Tsuchiura police station on March 25 for transfer to the Ibaraki District Prosecutors Office to face charges of attempted murder for allegedly stabbing eight people at random in Tsuchiura, Ibaraki Prefecture on March 23. Kanagawa, who also allegedly stabbed a 72-year-old man in Tsuchiura to death on March 19, was arrested shortly after the stabbing rampage at the JR Arakawaoki Station and the adjacent Samparu shopping mall. One 27-year-old man died in the incident. (Kyodo)
