Toyota launches redesigned Crown Majesta luxury sedan

TOKYO, Japan - Toyota Motor Corp. on March 26 launched its redesigned Crown Majesta luxury sedan, which boasts enhanced comfort and new safety technologies. The fifth-generation Crown Majesta, the Toyota brand's top sedan, is equipped with a 4.6-liter V8 gasoline engine and has a wheelbase 7.5 centimeters longer than the previous model, providing increased legroom for rear-seat passengers. It comes with a premium sound system that includes 20 speakers, Toyota said. The new Crown Majesta's suggested retail price starts at 6.1 million yen, up from 5.67 million yen for the previous model. WASHINGTON, U.S. - Honda Motor Co.'s Insight hybrid sedan is ranked as the most fuel efficient car among model year 2000 vehicles BY the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Oct. 1. The Insight, a two-seat car powered by a gasoline-electric hybrid engine scheduled to go on sale in December, logged 25.9 kilometers per liter of gasoline for driving in cities and a highway rating of 29.8 km per liter.
