World Sand Sculpture Festival opens at Tottori Sand Dunes
TOTTORI, Japan - Huge sand sculptures wow observers at the World Sand Sculpture Festival that began April 18 at Tottori Sand Dunes in Tottori Prefecture. The festival, which runs through May 31, features works by artists from more than 10 countries based on the theme of fairy tales of the world. The Tottori Sand Dunes are the largest sand hills in Japan. (Kyodo)
