First major steel framework set for Tokyo Sky Tree tower

TOKYO, Japan - The first part (white structure in center) of steel framework for the Tokyo Sky Tree, a tower to cope with digital terrestrial TV broadcasting now under construction in Tokyo's Sumida Ward, was set in its foundation on April 6. The 610-meter-tall new tower is scheduled to begin operating in 2012. (Kyodo)
