Prince Tomohito of Mikasa to receive treatment for alcoholism
TOKYO, Japan - Japan's Prince Tomohito of Mikasa (file photo), a cousin of Emperor Akihito, needs to receive treatment for alcohol dependency for more than a month at the Imperial Household Hospital, the Imperial Household Agency said June 22. Prince Tomohito is suffering severe insomnia and difficulty in swallowing food, the agency said. Prince Tomohito has gone through seven operations to remove tumors from his throat and esophagus since 1991. (Kyodo)
