Vietnam gets new president, prime minister
HANOI, Vietnam - Vietnamese legislators on June 27 elected Nguyen Minh Triet (R), Ho Chi Minh City's Communist Party chief, as the country's new president. Triet, 63, subsequently nominated Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung (L), 56, to become the next prime minister. Dung's nomination was confirmed later. In center is Nguyen Phu Trong, 62, who was elected chairman of the National Assembly. (Kyodo)
