Tiananmen dissident vows to resist deportation from Macao
TOKYO, Japan - Wuer Kaixi, a Chinese dissident exiled for playing a leading role in the 1989 Tiananmen pro-democracy protests, prepares to leave an airport outside Taipei for Macao June 3 to turn himself in to Chinese authorities a day before the 20th anniversary of Beijing's bloody crackdown on thousands of democracy protesters. He was detained by immigration officials on arrival at Macao International Airport after a flight from Taipei. (Kyodo)
