Japanese geologist Miyashiro dies, might have fallen off cliff
TOKYO, Japan - Akiho Miyashiro (file photo), an 87-year-old Japanese geologist renowned for his research in plate tectonics, was found dead July 24 in a forest park in New York. Local police suspect Miyashiro might have fallen off a cliff while walking in the park. The geologist was a professor at universities such as Columbia University in New York City and New York State University. (Kyodo)
