Japan's defending hot-dog chomper loses in New York competition
NEW YORK, United States - Takeru Kobayashi (L), the Japanese defending champing of New York's annual Independence Day hot-dog eating contest, lost out July 4 to last year's American runner-up Joey Chestnut (R). Kobayashi, 29, who won the competition for six years in a row till last year, devoured three less hot dogs than the 66 gulped down by Chestnut, 23, within 12 minutes. (Kyodo)
